Welcome to Rheumatology Events
We are dedicated to delivering high quality education. We were founded in in 2017 to provide clinical knowledge and skills training, promote multi-disciplinary and multi-specialty care, act as a platform for networking and generate interest in research. Our ultimate aim is to improve standards of patient care. Our initial focus was axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). However, based upon requests from delegates, we have expanded the remit to include rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other rheumatological conditions.
Our 2021 curriculum will focus on spondyloarthritis (SpA) and RA. Key events in 2021 include the Midlands SpA Academy, the Eastern-London SpA Annual Meeting, a dedicated Physiotherapy Academy and the newly formed RA Academy. Further details can be found on the Events page.
We are delighted to announce that the Eastern-London Annual Meeting will be a face-to-face event and the inaugural RA Academy (October 2021) will be a 2-day hybrid event (face-to-face and virtual options) held at the Royal Society of Medicine in London and featuring a faculty of internationally renowned experts. The curriculum for all our events includes aspects of disease epidemiology, clinical presentation and classification, examination, investigation, non-pharmacological and pharmacological management, case-based discussion, patient support and service delivery, delivered via key-note presentations, workshops and clinical skills demonstrations. Each presentation will be followed by a Q&A For virtual meeting, delegates will also have the opportunity to engage using our networking zones and event chat functions. In 2022, we are planning a number of new events including an Imaging Academy and Auto-immune Disease Academy.
We serve as a platform for multi-disciplinary and multi-speciality networking, and therefore welcome registrations from rheumatologists, general practitioners, radiologists, dermatologists, gastroenterologists, ophthalmologists, clinical and research nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, orthotists, dieticians, psychologists, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, surgeons, and any other healthcare professional interested in rheumatology.
These events are funded by unrestricted educational grants from industry sponsors. Therefore there are no delegate fees for attendance and all events are approved for continuous professional development (CPD) by the Royal College of Physicians. The content of these meetings has been developed and independently directed by us, and is not promotional in any way.
