Supporting your educational needs in rheumatology
Thank you for visiting the SpA Academy’s Arthritis Events website.
This website will host a number of educational events related to a variety of rheumatological conditions. In 2020 we will be focusing on axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). In 2021 we will be hosting a series of educational events on rheumatoid arthritis (RA), in addition to SpA.
Our objectives are to provide clinical knowledge and skills training, promote multidisciplinary care, act as a platform for networking and generate interest in research; with the ultimate aim of improving standards of care.
Through the two key formats of ‘National four-whole-day events’ and ‘Regional Annual Meetings’, our curriculum will include epidemiology, disease presentation and classification, clinical examination, investigation, non-pharmacological and pharmacological management, and service delivery. The curriculum will be delivered via key-note presentations, workshops and clinical skills demonstrations. We hope to serve as a platform for multi-disciplinary and multi-speciality networking, and therefore welcome registrations from rheumatologists, clinical and research nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, orthotists, dieticians, psychologists, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, surgeons, general practitioners and any other healthcare professional interested in rheumatology.
These events are funded by unrestricted educational grants from industry sponsors. The content of these meetings has been independently directed by us, and is not promotional in any way.
All events are free to attend and we endeavour to have RCP-CPD accreditation for all.
Please register for the event of interest using the ‘Events’ tab above.
We look forward to welcoming you to the ‘Academy’ and hope that you find it to be an exciting educational initiative.
